Trim the meat as necessary and season all sides well with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Then, coat lightly with flour. Preheat the oven to 325°F. In a Dutch oven, heat around 1 Tbsp of olive oil. Sear all sides of the beef for 2 minutes per side and then remove it from the pot. Add another 1-2 Tbsp of olive oil and cook the sliced onions for about 5 minutes. Add the butter and minced garlic, cooking for another 1 minute. Season with a little salt and pepper and add 1 cup (or more) of apple cider. Reduce the liquid for 5 minutes and then add the seared beef back to the Dutch oven. Cover and cook for approximately 3 hours, or until the meat is pull-apart tender. Shred the meat and add just a little more apple cider if desired. Pair with your favorite sides or pack onto a bun for a sandwich.
