What you need

clove garlic
tbsp oil

oz vodka

tbsp tomato paste

tsp salt

tsp red pepper flake

oz penne

cup heavy cream

cup parmesan
cup pasta water
Instructions
0 Optional: Cook any protein you want to add (we did sausage) and remove. 1 Optional: Roast any veggies. (We did broccoli.) 2 Mince up the garlic and chop the shallot. 3 In your pot, heat the oil and add the shallot. Cook until deeply golden (2-3 minutes). 4 Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds. 5 In goes the vodka and reduce for 2 minutes. 6 Stir in the tomato paste and then add the crushed tomatoes, salt, and red pepper flakes. 7 Simmer for 15 minutes, and while that happens, cook your pasta until al dente. 8 Reserve some pasta water for the sauce. 9 Reduce the heat and add the heavy cream and shredded Parmesan cheese. 10 Once warm, stir in the pasta, pasta water, and any protein/veggies. 11 Plate and garnish with chopped parsley and more Parmesan! 12 Enjoy!View original recipe
