Sometimes all you need is a classic pulled pork sandwich. This recipe includes a homemade apple slaw for topping. It can be made low and slow in a smoker or an oven.
For the Pork:
1. In a bowl mix together the spices (brown sugar, paprika, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, pepper).
2. Rinse and dry the pork butt.
3. Heavily coat all sides of the pork with the spice rub.
4. In a smoker (or oven), cook the pork at 225°F until its internal temperature hits 165°F.
5. Remove the pork, add it into a pan, pour over the apple juice, cover with foil/lid, and add it back to the oven.
6. Continue to cook until the internal temperature hits 204°F.
7. Remove the pork and shred it.
8. Add BBQ sauce to taste.
For the Slaw:
1. In a bowl, mix together the broccoli slaw, chopped apple, honey, and mayo.
