Instructions
For the chicken batter: Mix 1.5 cups buttermilk, 3 eggs, and 1 tablespoon hot sauce together in a small bowl. In a large bowl, mix 3 cups flour, 3 teaspoons salt, and 2 teaspoons garlic powder together. Cut the chicken into 1/4-inch strips and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Coat the chicken strips in the flour mixture, then dip them in the buttermilk mixture, and then back into the flour mixture for a double coat. Fry the coated chicken in oil until golden brown and cooked through. For the flavored butter: In a small saucepan, melt 1 stick of butter with 2 tablespoons honey, 1 teaspoon cayenne, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon paprika, 1/2 teaspoon chili powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper.
